The Russian Federation's support for its armed aggression against Ukraine will have far greater consequences for Lukashenka than he expected. Because now Russia's actions are officially recognized by the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly as genocide.
The OSCE PA adopted a resolution in which it recognized Russia's actions as genocide of the Ukrainian people and the necessity of Russia's decolonization. People's deputy, member of the OSCE parliamentary delegation Pavel Frolov informed about this on Saturday, June 29.
According to him, the document contains a call to 53 OSCE participating countries, including Belarus, to make efforts to de-occupy Crimea and all occupied territories of Ukraine, supporting the "peace formula" and the Crimean platform. The resolution also calls for the establishment of a special tribunal to hold the Russian Federation accountable for war crimes and to conduct an international and national investigation into mass atrocities, murders, torture and rape committed by the Russian military in Ukraine.
In addition, the need to quickly launch the mechanism of using frozen Russian assets for the benefit of Ukraine is emphasized, the OSCE countries are invited to join the agreement on the international register of damage caused to Ukraine by the aggression of the Russian Federation.
The Assembly also recognized the 2024 presidential election in Russia as falsified and undermines the legitimacy of Russia's entire electoral system.
The OSCE Parliamentary Assembly supported the creation of an international coalition for the return of Ukrainian children, as well as ensuring the release of Ukrainian prisoners of war and civilians, and called for a ban on the import of Russian liquefied gas into the European Union. - export and transit through EU ports.
The OSCE PA session will continue until July 3.
