8 years since the day of the murder of Pavlo Sheremet

It was blown up on July 20, 2016 in a car in the center of Kyiv.

Paul was an outstanding person of our time. At the age of 23, he was recognized as the best TV journalist in Belarus, then had a successful career in Russia and Ukraine. In 1995, he resigned from the Belarusian state television and became an implacable opponent of Lukashenka's regime. In 1997, after a three-month imprisonment, he was forced to leave Belarus. In 2008, he left "Pershi" after the publication in "Vidomosty" of his article about the fact that Russia, like Belarus, is on the way to creating a totalitarian society. In 2014, he moved from Russia to Ukraine, as he categorically opposed Russian aggression. In the same year, he led the memorial service for Boris Nemtsov, which was his last public appearance in Russia.

Pavel consistently defended liberal-democratic values and was an implacable opponent of the dictatorship of Lukashenka and Putin.
